I follow the Zig Ziglar school of reaching objectives: "The way to get more of what YOU want is to help others get more of what THEY want." My chosen method of helping others get more of what they want is working with companies who make products from leather. The technologies and expertise my company offers helps companies to get more cut leather parts from every hide. We help with fabric, too, by the way. It doesn't matter how the leather gets cut--by knife, die, or automated CNC machine--my company's offerings can add to a producer's bottom line. I consider my company to be a "boutique" provider. We aren't big like some of our competitors, but we don't charge as much and give better service than they do. How do I back up that claim? Ask my customers! Conducting myself as if I am a trusted member of my customers' companies helps me direct my efforts toward common goals. The best thing about being my own boss is that I can decide how to treat someone right, whether it ends in a sale or not. Sadly, I haven't always had that luxury.
