Data Consultant on the $456M million Agile "Shaping our Future" transformation plan. Within the Juno Project I provided solutions, coding and analysis to migrate 500M Claims and Policy records for Experience Rating (ER). A particular challenge in this role was dealing with the complexity of transferring and synchronising decades of customer data from the old systems and understanding multiple exceptions.The outcome of this project is that ACC is able to transfer onto modern processing systems and decommission a costly suite of legacy systems.

My role here was to initiate and lead engagements from inception to completion for data related opportunities. I worked with multiple teams on RFI, RFP, data architecture, data modelling, design, implementation, testing, team leadership, mentoring, original thinking.Datacom Operational Management Engine (Dome)A key asset for Datacom and responsible for a large proportion of Datacom’s client reporting requirements. This system manages over 200,000 assets for over 200 of Datacom's clients and is implemented in Wellington, Auckland and Australia. Dome provides operational, ad-hoc, forensic, historical and future based trending reporting. The system is entirely metadata driven with updates provided through a fully automated delivery method. My role was to provide vision, design and methodology for Dome and manage the small team dedicated to development and support.Dome is a large-scale business intelligence system providing over 700 attributes of historic data in conformed cubes from multiple CI systems including: -• CMDB R12/Cherwell, Discovery, Monitoring, Backup, Antivirus, PatchingOther critical functions provided by Dome include:• Reconciliation, KPI reporting• Structured and unstructured data• Trending, CMDB migrationDome improves Datacom’s efficiency and accuracy, this allows for increased customer confidence and reliability of Datacom supported systems. The automated nature of the build and delivery system ensures that ongoing support and development costs for Dome remain low as the size and complexity of the system increases.

As part of the Shaping Our Future, programme of work I managed a team of 20 developers, analysts, support staff and liased with key stakeholders. As part of this role I identified a need for full end to end lineage of the reporting eco system. The ACC claims processing system involves over 60M lines of code built over 21 years in 5 languages (PL\SQL, OWB, OBIEE, SAS, Control-M) and provides all operational and analytical reportingACC needed to meet various audit compliance requirements for the purposes of Impact analysis, Cost Estimation, Troubleshooting, Business process reengineering, Simplification, Re-useTo meet these requirements, I went on to develop and deliver an automated process to decompile the entire reporting system. The objective of this assignment was to provide full end to end lineage and provide different abstractions and tracing of data flows through: -• Data lineage maps down to field and rule level• Rule Identification and separation• Colour mapped data flow diagramsThe outcome of this engagement is that ACC is able for the first time to visualise and analyse its entire complex data processing system. This has improved ACC’s confidence in delivery and enabled ACC’s ability to audit its critical processing systems.

As part of the complex separation of Chorus from Telecom my role was to provide data migration principals and strategy to gain acceptance of the approach between the two organisations.Implemented a data migration of the ERP data from SAP and supporting systems. The early identification of issues and the automation of test scenarios allowed Chorus to change their data model with assurance against the actual data before customising the target SAP solution. This resulted in many issues being discovered and mitigated during the migration development resulting in an significant reduced cost to the project.Following this I moved onto the migration into the new Oracle based Copper and Fibre Fulfilment system (COFFII). This involved managing the development, delivery and overseeing the live transition to the new system within Chorus. Full data lineage was maintained throughout the process allowing for agile delivery and early identification of issues within very challenging time scales.

As part of the Shaping Our Future, programme of work I managed a team of 20 developers, analysts, support staff and liaised with key stakeholders. Whilst managing an enterprise data warehouse team I was also responsible for improving delivery processes and providing data lineage on OWB, OBIEE and PL-SQL systems.This role lead to a further engagement in order to provide full end to end lineage of the reporting eco system.

My role here was to provide a migration strategy into the new SharePoint based document management system. This involved analysis and explanation of each of the many legacy document management repositories with supporting metadata, security and transformation rules.I worked closely with the Project management office to articulate and gain approval for the strategy and provide accurate estimates as to the project costs and options for where the costs could be reduced. As a result of this strategy, DIA was able to make informed and traceable decisions in order to simplify and consolidate their document requirements.

Migration from STB2 to Musketeer, treasury dealing room support, OTC OptionsContract to convert a core trading application for the central treasury group. The system provides trading, settlement and risk systems. The IPCG Treasury group manages the funds, cash flow and investment activities, gathering the global requirements and positions. Their environment went through an upgrade from Sybase to SQL, and migrated to a Compaq cluster. The app is used in Singapore, London and Miami. The deal transfer system facilitates synchronisation of the back and front office dealing systems. Scripting and DTS performed from Sybase 11.0 to SQL-Server 2000. The process and documentation developed for release to production. VB6 interface applications converted and tested. ASP.net pages converted and tested. Security model redesigned using AD Groups and Integrated security.Additional project to manage OTC Options developed in ASP with integrated security.
