My experience has predominantly been in seating with nearly 18 years in this sector, 16 of which spent at KAB Seating Ltd, part of CVG (Commercial Vehicle Group). Market sectors covered include construction, handling, agricultural, truck and office seating working globally with OEMs such as JCB, Volvo and Komatsu. My experience covers all aspects of seat design from concept development, aesthetics, ergonomics, trim, prototyping and mechanical design. My skill set allows me to take a design from initial sketch through to CAD surface or solid models, photorealistic renderings, rapid prototyping, and finally the issue of production intent data for tooling etc. Good communication and understanding is always maintained with the customer and relevant suppliers of each project/process.Working within a design and manufacturing environment has allowed me to be involved with many other areas such as Production Engineering, Test, associated quality systems (ISO, TQPS), manufacturing and delivery systems (JIT, KANBAN, POKA-YOKE).All of the above experience has put me in an excellent position to deliver innovative production ready solutions in my current role as Senior Designer within TEK Military Seating.
