I have been the Superintendent of Lake Mead National Recreation Area since September 2023, where I oversee one of the largest and most diverse parks in the U.S., with two reservoirs in two states with over 1.5 million acres of land and water. I lead a team of over 200 dedicated employees and up to 2000 volunteers, and manage a budget of $21 million that serves over 5.8 million visitors annually. I am responsible for ensuring the protection, preservation, and enjoyment of the recreational area’s natural and cultural resources, as well as the economic, recreational, and social benefits to the surrounding communities.I bring more than 35 years of experience in the National Park Service, where I have worked in various positions and locations, from a wilderness ranger to legislative specialist, from Olympic NP to Mojave NP. I have developed strong skills in leading people, managing organizations, community outreach, tribal consultation, and providing effective and accessible services to the public and business community. I am also an author and photographer for Mount Rainier A Climbing Guide, the authoritative resource for climbing the iconic peak. I am passionate about sharing my love for nature, adventure, and conservation with others.
