Goodhue, Minnesota

Experience driving a Class A combination tractor/trailer transporting grain from local elevators and farming operations to ethanol production plants, and fertilizer from river and rail facilities to local agronomy plants. Duties include safely operating; loading and unloading a tractor/grain trailer combination vehicle, customer/client communication, record keeping and regulatory documentation. I have undergone a Department of Homeland Security TSA Background Investigation and possess a HAZMAT endorsement.

Minnesota Select Sires

Here I was initially responsible for artificially inseminating (AI) cattle on a daily basis for many of my Dairy customers. I performed customer service, dairy and beef breeding, record keeping, reproductive advice and decision-making.I was then promoted to Service supervisor in 2006. I excelled in my supervising abilities. I was in charge of training new employees, documenting progress and addressing shortfalls. I was constantly providing on-farm reproductive training as well as organized and taught reproductive classes at area universities, including NDSU, UMN, and local high schools. I was constantly improving my skills and knowledge in the ever-changing Dairy Industry using seminars, periodicals and online information. Extensively used Dairy Comp305 and Dairy Quest, and have experience with PC Dart dairy programs. I am comfortable and knowledgeable working with computers, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. I was responsible for in depth record keeping for employees under my supervision. I was in charge of sales, installation, trouble shooting and repairs of Select Detect, a computer system for monitoring dairy cattle activities. My responsibilities included customer satisfaction, individualized setup and customer training using this equipment. I was in constant communication with DairyMaster and Select Sires INC., initializing the incorporation of this new product into our Minnesota and North Dakota customers needs.

Kenyon, Minnesota

Managed the daily activities of the main 650 cow dairy, including talking with the herdsman on duty and dealing with daily challenges that arise. I was in charge of all the feeding and nutritional work, bunker management, crop harvesting and free stall management. I was the liaison between suppliers, field representatives and sales professionals, reporting directly with owners of the dairy to keep them informed of protocol changes effecting operations. I was responsible for the hiring, training, employee reviews and discharge. Also responsible for AI breeding and breeding programs, ordering and inventorying of the dairy supplies, 90% of the repairs on the De Laval milking equipment, and 90% of the Case IH, and John Deere machinery repair and maintenance.

Monroe, Wisconsin

Managed the daily activities of this 300 cow dairy, including the milking parlor, free-stall, and young stock. In charge of computer records, every day vet work and herd health, fresh cow health, assisting births, AI breading and heat detection. Other responsibilities included pregnancy checking, replacing DA’s, ordering supplies, and communicating with salesmen and field reps. Also helped with field work, building repairs, new construction, machinery repair, and maintenance. Worked with De Laval milking equipment, Case IH, and New Holland machinery.

Monroe, Wisconsin

This was my first herdsman position in a free-stall and parlor setup where I was in charge of a 200 cow registered dairy herd. Received instruction in AI breeding, administering IV’s, record keeping, registration for the registered herd, ordering of supplies, and many other management practices. Succeeded in achieving a <100 SCC honor roll from DHIA; which was the first time a herd that large had earned this status in Green County Wisconsin. Also assisted with fieldwork, machinery, building repair, and maintenance. Worked with Surge milking equipment, and John Deere, Case, and Heston machinery.

Freeport Illinois

Duties included all of the fieldwork, machinery repair and maintenance, feeding and chores, but no milking.

Orangeville, Illinois

This was my first dairy job other than on my grandmother’s farm. I learned how to do basic fieldwork and how to milk cows. Duties included milking, chores, fieldwork, and general maintenance. Worked part-time during my senior year of high school and worked full-time during college.
