Led the owner's team of geology and mining professionals in completion of the technical components (geology, resource estimation, mine planning and mine designs) for the Nimba Iron Project PFS. Study scope included completion of the geological interpretation and resource estimate and classification, evaluation of mining and materials movement alternatives, pit optimisation, development of Life of Asset mine plans, mine designs and schedules. Collaboration and prime interface with other project teams including processing, infrastructure, EPCM engineering and project evaluation, providing technical support and inputs as required.

Rio De Janeiro, Brazil

BHP Billiton Metais S.A. (BMSA).Assumed the role as BHP Billiton's shareholder representative in the Mineração Rio do Norte (MRN) bauxite operation in northern Brazil, monitoring and influencing the operations in a technical and HSEC capacity, analysing and challenging HSEC performance, operations management and costs and influencing business improvement initiatives and opportunities. Evaluation and guidance of sustaining and development capital projects. Chaired the MRN Technical and Health and Safety Committees. Participated in due diligence of selected regional bauxite deposits in Brazil to further BHP Billiton's business development objectives.

Suriname, South America

BHP Billiton Maatschappij Suriname.Commissioned and successfully transitioned two small bauxite operations in Suriname from project execution into steady state operations, managing 300 employees and contractors, responsible for daily operations management, meeting both production and operating cost targets, whilst maintaining expected HSEC standards. Responsible for initial operational readiness and planning and final implementation through ramp up to full operations. Operations management of all the daily activities of the mine operation including production, short term planning and technical support, HSEC, HR, budget and cost control, mobile equipment, and fixed plant maintenance.

BHP Billiton Maatschappij Suriname.Planning and management of brownfield and greenfield bauxite exploration projects within Suriname. Activities included planning and implementation of the project and management of exploration camp and projects' daily drilling, survey, access preparation and resource modelling activities. Managed remote exploration drilling program and a camp of over 120 people for two years with no lost time injuries. Ensured compliance with industry and BHPB accepted technical and operational standards, promoted, and embedded continuous improvement and led the on-site HSEC management personally.

Task and responsibilities included surface and underground mapping and sampling, data capture, borehole logging and core sampling, structural mapping and analysis, monthly grade forecasting, core shed management, data capture and validation.
