Mike Goodwin is the CEO of GoodCap Ventures, a private equity firm that specializes in commercial and residential development in the dynamic and diverse DFW metroplex. Mike has spent the last 10 years identifying, designing, and executing visionary projects that transform communities and improve the communities that he lives in. In his role as CEO, he works to help the GoodCap Ventures organizations come together with a unified vision — delivering exceptional value to every customer, partner, and associate that he collaborates with. Mike pays attention to nurturing and preserving partnerships, recognizing them as the driving force behind the success of customers, stakeholders, and our team. Mike started his career in the construction industry, working as a production manager for Cowboy Fence and warranty manager for David Weekley Homes. From there, Mike worked under well-known Texas real estate developer Lance McFaddin in the Houston area (founder of Index Development, Student Housing USA/ Meyer Residential, McFaddin Restaurant Ventures, Hankamer McFaddin Hotel Co., McFaddin Metz Restaurants, McFaddin Ventures, Vista Host, McFaddin Kendrick, Servico and Lufkin Properties) for several years, developing his passion for entrepreneurship and property development. Mike continued his entrepreneurial journey by founding Apex Fence in 2019, marking the beginning of GoodCap Ventures, which has expanded to include nine companies with more to come.
