2016-2024 1. Various Transformation roles for Councils across London and Eastern England. Provided scrutiny and challenge acting as a team player / critical friend to support clients to achieve their business objectives . Supported the delivery of a range of Programmes and Projects by bringing clarity and focus. 2. Designing and delivering Assessment Centres for the selection and recruitment of CXs , Directors and Heads of service in Public Sector.3. Providing Coaching and Mentoring to Senior Executives. As part of SOLACE's National Programme providing coaching and mentoring to senior officers in Public Sector who are wrestling with the challenges of delivering services in these uncertain times.4.Working on behalf of EELGA ( East of England Local Government Association) delivered well received research on "New ways of Working" that are emerging in the Public Sector.5. Various interim assignments in Local Government in the fields of planning, housing and regeneration.

Responsible for leading a ground breaking major , nationally recognised award winning Change Programme , to totally integrate and fundamentally transform services across two Councils . Built a new financially sustainable model with clear focus on outcomes , reducing costs whilst improving community engagement and service delivery . This was achieved against a background of over a 25% reduction in funding . In summary success was achieved by combination of scrutiny, constructive challenge and support. Relationships were built, collaborative leadership nurtured, organisational values objectives and outcomes, co-designed with staff and community stakeholders, with staff development supported to ensure a focus on continuous improvement . Developed a new Strategic approach to delivering the growth agenda with clear outcomes in terms of the right mix, and increased numbers , of homes and jobs.

Responsible for £70m revenue budget, £10m capital budget, 300 staff.. Responsible for the Strategic Leadership of all the Councils direct services and special projects with a focus on housing, planning and economic development . A member of the Haven Gateway Partnership covering NE Essex and South Suffolk. My role included promoting the community interests and development of the area. Led the creation, across 3 Councils, of a single shared revenues and benefits service responsible for over £300m billing and 170k properties . This involved preparing Business Case , identifying and mitigating risk and delivering the new service . Outcomes achieved included improved customer service , increased turnaround of cases , increased accuracy of claims whilst significantly reducing costs by modernizing IT and transforming working practices.

Responsible for 250 staff delivering front line services, [ planning , housing , environment , leisure , economic development , revenues and benefits] with an annual budget of £40 m and a capital budget of £5m.Re-orientated services to be based on evidence of need with clear focus on outcomes, resulting in several national "beacon" awards, including recognition for transforming housing and leisure services to deliver significant welfare and health benefits for local communities.

Transformed and delivered a property management and property development service .Maximised the use of a £500m property portfolio , generating £50m capital receipts, increased rent roll by £2m pa whilst increasing property's' contribution to delivering the wider strategic priorities of the council.I successfully led the Councils most complex and highly contentious project. The promotion and development of a 200 Acre greenfield site , formerly an Airfield, resulting in 1000 new homes ( 25% affordable), with new , Health and Community Facilities .I led the creation of an Affordable Housing Programme, working with colleagues and partners to enable the construction of 100's of new affordable homes. All of the above involved me in promoting land for development, acting as an ambassador for the developments , levering in funding from development partners and pension funds, and negotiating development agreements and property acquisitions disposals.
