I have worked in fabrication for about 30 years now, with much of my time spent in supervisory roles. I started as a machine operator at most of my jobs and moved up into management positions in a short period of time because of my experience, knowledge and work ethics. I have set up and operated various punch presses, turret presses, shears, brake presses, mechanical and cnc punching systems. I was certified to train people to drive lift trucks. I have attended and completed a 16 month management course put on by Forward Janesville called Supervisory Leadership Series. I have a certificate in SPC.After a couple of working supervisor jobs I took an opportunity Newco Fabrication in Janesville. I started out as a press setter and was also trained to Mig weld. After a year or so I was offered a job as welding supervisor and a couple years later was promoted to welding/sheet metal supervisor where I remained for a total of 10 years until our business closed. I then went to Wolf Appliance where I ran a sophisticated cnc steel punching system. I also ran various other machines such as brake press and a couple of other cnc machines. At Wolf I was invited to be part of a continuous improvement team consisting of both management and shop employees. I worked at Wolf for 12.5 years before the General Manager at Scharine Group found my online resume and offered me a job.I became the Fabrication Manager at Scharine Group and stayed there for about 2.5 years. I was in charge of about 60 employees. I scheduled work by utilizing an Access program, ordered steel for our lean process, monitored staffing, and ran our daily production meetings. I left Scharine to be a Production Supervisor at Hufcor, Inc where at times I was in charge of their main assembly line and the fabrication area that supported all of Hufcor's assembly lines. About 40 people total.I stayed at Hufcor for about 9 months before I was offered the Fabrication Manager job at Capron Mfg, where I worked for 3.5 yearsAfter leaving Capron Fabrication in a much better position than it was before I started there, I was offered a position as an Operations Supervisor at Woodward. This is where I'm currently employed.
