Responsible for promoting, monitoring, and evaluating the Naval Aviation Safety Management System for the USN and USMC. Serve as the command’s subject matter expert for Naval Aviation safety programs. Develop and formulate Naval Aviation Office of the Chief of Naval Operations (OPNAV) safety policy and directive guidance on behalf of COMNAVSAFECOM and keep policy current and in compliance with all higher-level guidance. Develop and administer safety assessments, certifications, inspections and standardization visits as well as area assessments to Naval Aviation commands. Provide targeted safety assessment visits and risk management training. Promulgate best practices and safety lessons learned. Conduct safety assurance processes for Naval Aviation. Review data and information to identify unmitigated safety risks. Highlight leading indicators or heightened risks in reports, papers, and summaries. Track corrective action implementation.

Serve as the Deputy Commander to assist the Commander in consideration of policies, problems, and integration of all warfare commanders covering the operational employment of 18 subordinate commands and 8,000 Sailors.

Educate national security professionals and execute joint, multinational, and interagency operations while instilling a primary commitment to joint, multinational, and interagency teamwork, attitudes, and perspectives.

Responsible for the conduct of all facets of air operations in and around the amphibious assault ship. Provided oversight and coordination of multiple complex jobs during the Chief of Naval Operations Maintenance Availability. Spearheaded the development of a cohesive, multi-agency team responsible for ship's force work packages that facilitated the Aviation Certification of USS BATAAN.

Responsible for a squadron of 231 personnel, 12 MH-60S aircraft, 1 MQ-8B, and an annual budget in excess of $8.3 million.The squadron executes over 3,500 flight hours annually in support of Geographical Combatant Commander and US national objectives. Squadron operations include: - Apprentice, journeyman, and career training in aircraft maintenance; - Basic and advanced aircrew tactical training in missions including search and rescue, weapons employment, logistics support, and integrated flight operations; - Safety operations, including Operational Risk Management, Crew Resource Management, OSHA compliance, and weapons safety programs; - General military training including personal Financial Management, personal and professional safety, sexual assault prevention and response, and computer information assurance; - Administrative operations for training documentation, performance appraisals, and organizational correspondence; - Operations planning for near-term flight operations, mid-term operational deployments, and long-term operational employment; - Maintenance operations for daily support and upkeep of assigned aircraft to meet operational and training flight commitments; - Logistics planning and execution to support daily and dispersed, deployed operations.

JPSE is a flexible employment package composed of personnel from five functional planning groups: operations, plans, knowledge management, intelligence support and logistics. Mission tailored teams enable Geographic Combatant Commands and joint task force headquarters to rapidly form, plan, operate and integrate with interagency and non-military elements of national power for crisis resolution.

Served as the Tactics Department Head, Detachment Officer-in-Charge, Maintenance Department Head, and the Operations Department Head for the Fleet's largest HSC Squadron.
