As Chief Operating Officer, my role is to ensure that all Trade staff in the 14 Eastern Europe & Central Asia Region countries are resourced and equipped in the right way to do their job. I link up DIT Headquarters and the region to ensure maximise trade opportunities. As Head of Investment I also oversees the Investment work across the region by helping companies to establish and grow in the UK. My overall aim is to ensure that the trade and investment vision of Her Majesty’s Trade Commissioner is delivered in the most efficient way possible.I have worked for over 8 years in Government and previously worked in the Trade Policy Group in DIT HQ on a variety of corporate services related issues including producing business cases for Treasury, resourcing, developing the model for the new trade policy teams and creating the International Trade Profession. Before Government, I worked for a range of international companies including Accenture and Raleigh International as well as working overseas in Belize, Uganda and India. Over the past 10 years, Mike has set up 2 start-up companies. One company is still successfully running where he runs a company in the UK that coaches students how to gain graduate jobs after university.Graduate Assessment Ltd: I have a background of working and representing students as the former Student Union President of Durham University. I have paired up with an expert in assessment centres to deliver workshops for students. Together we bridge the gap between students and the graduate recruitment market. We are graduates that have recently gone through a successful application process and now work in partnership with careers services Our aim is to use graduates to help students. We are a non for profit enterprise that uses the skills recent graduates have learnt to run students through exercises, workshops, coaching and feedback.
