I am an Associate Principal Consultant in ISVR Consulting, the Noise and Vibration Consultancy Service of the Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR) at the University of Southampton. I was previously a Consultant, Senior Consultant and then Principal Consultant with the same organisation. ISVR Consulting provides consultancy to industry, businesses, government and local authorities for most aspects of acoustics, sound, noise, hearing, and vibration. My particular interests are noise measurement, noise at work, hearing protection, speech communications, speech intelligibility, noise exposure from headsets including call centres and control rooms, acoustic shock, impulsive noise from firearms and pyrotechnics, subjective acoustics, audibility of warnings, and electro-acoustics. I have also acted as an expert witness and given evidence in court. I am a Fellow of the Institute of Acoustics (FIOA).
