Serving as the Ambassador’s principal advisor on all matters related to security and safety. Management of a robust security program in a Critical Crime environment with an emphasis on emergency planning to address business continuity challenges arising from natural disasters. Principal member of the Ambassador’s team on civil security and governance, development and law enforcement. Responsible for the protection of all sensitive and classified U.S. Government information housed and processed through the Embassy.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

Served as the Agent-in-Charge (AIC). Responsible for the overall management of protective details, to include supervision of all detail agents and support personnel. Planed and coordinated all law enforcement, security, and interagency operations for national security and major events related to specific security details. Managed resources, coordinated logistics, and monitored fiscal requirements for assigned protective security details and or major events. Monitored and interpreted sensitive intelligence to corroborate, develop, and expand information to mitigate threats against designated protected officials, major events and facilities. Built and managed key liaison relationships with relevant federal, state, local, and foreign law enforcement as well diplomatic and private sector counterparts. Fostered and maintained productive working relationships at the highest levels of government; to include Heads of State, Foreign Ministers, Ambassadors and other Cabinet level officials.

Baghdad Iraq

Served as the Program Manager of the Baghdad Embassy Security Force (BESF). Responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing security operations for all U.S. Government facilities within Baghdad including the U.S. Embassy. Supervised five Diplomatic Security (DS) agents and two Government Technical Monitors. Managed a program with a $250 million annual budget comprising 2,500 security contractors, emergency response teams (ERT), explosive detection canine (K-9) handlers and U.S. Army explosives ordnance disposal (EOD) teams. Monitored and inspected the contractors’ progress and performance, conducted monthly invoice reviews, assured compliance with contract terms and conditions. Managed logistical support issues for all US facilities in Baghdad. Implemented the transition to demilitarize the guard force to create a more traditional Department of State model in form, function, and appearance.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

Assigned as a Special Agent in Washington. Supervised teams of Special Agents, conducted criminal and background investigations and conducted executive protective missions domestically and abroad.

Department Of State – Diplomatic Security U.S. Consulate, Chengdu, China

Served as the Regional Security Officer and the Consul General’s principal advisor on matters of security and safety for all personnel, family members and U.S. government interests in southwest China. Responsible for the overall management and supervision of all security personnel and related programs and policies. Managed a budget in excess of 1 million dollars in security equipment and programs. Managed an incident reporting database system to track surveillance of facilities and personnel and instituted plans to mitigate potential threats.
