About Mike Marriott
Since December 2021, I have been part of the Psychology Management Group at NTU Psychology having been appointed to a principal lecturer post. My role entails various elements of student experience, with a focus on equality, diversity and inclusion for students and staff, alongside line management and workloading responsibilities. I also maintain a leadership role for academics in the School of Social Sciences on the Teaching and Practice pathway.I have been at NTU since August 2015, when I took on a new role lecturing at Nottingham Trent University on both undergrad and postgrad programmes. I have developed academic interests from my previous clinical role, with a focus on integrating practicing clinicians at the primary stages of research, and have maintained a small clinical role within my previous service.From November 2007 to August 2015, I was employed by the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. In November 2013, I started a new role specialising in work with young people with severe eating difficulties as part of a new team created by our Trust, taking a co-leadership role in developing the team's processes and bidding for on-going funding.Previous specialist functions within my service included assessing Autistic Spectrum Disorders, implementation of routine clinical measures across our service, and clinical supervision of other psychologists and allied professions. I have a strong interest in both systemic and cognitive-behavioural work with children and adolescents.My research activity whilst with the NHS included - the appropriate use of routine outcome measurement in CAMHS - qualitative (IPA) research with people whose experiences were akin to "psychosis" and for whom spiritual or religious beliefs were of strong importance - supervision of qualitative research with parents of adolescents diagnosed with "Anorexia Nervosa", and with users of a paediatric liaison serviceMy publications can be found through my university profile - http://www.ntu.ac.uk/apps/staff_profiles/staff_directory/178627-0/26/profile.aspx.aspxYou can also follow me on Twitter - https://twitter.com/PsychologyMike
