Mike Mattos is an internationally recognized author, presenter, practitioner and consultant. Mike co-created the RTI at Work approach to systematic interventions and is a thought leader in professional learning communities and the PLC at Work process. He is honored to advance the work of his mentors Richard DuFour and Robert Eaker. In 2024, he was recognized by the Global Gurus organization as one of the thirty most influential educational thought leaders in the world. His books have collectively sold over 1,000,000 copies. He has mentored schools across the world—from Perth, Australia, to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Mike is extremely proud of the twenty-three years he served on-site as a history/mathematics teacher and administrator. He is the former principal of Marjorie Veeh Elementary School and Pioneer Middle School in California. At both schools, Mike helped create model professional learning communities, improving learning for all students.
