I have worked in Financial Services for 50 years, and was a director of Lloyds TSB Insurance Ltd from 2000 to 2004 and of Cheltenham & Gloucester plc from 2004 to 2008.Aileen and I bought an on-line art gallery business, ArtGallery.co.uk, in August 2008 and we worked together in this business for just over a year. I was asked to join the Special Resolution Unit at the Bank of England and couldn't resist the opportunity of working at such a great institution.I left the Bank in May 2012 to join the Risk Consultancy practice of KPMG where I worked until February 2014.I returned to the Bank of England and was a Senior Advisor at the Prudential Regulatory Authority until I retired from the Bank at the end of March 2021, although I thoroughly enjoyed returning to an executive role as Director, International Banks Supervision between August 2015 and May 2018.Whilst my wife and I will be spending more of our time in Portugal in the future, am interested in considering short term assignments.
