Working a sales internship at ZEP gave me an in-depth insight into what makes a good sales rep tick. Here I learned that hard work pays off in one way or another, which is something that I will look to incorporate throughout my professional career. Teamwork was something I didn't expect to incorporate into a sales role, however, good communication across the business is needed to become a good salesperson.

I held this job going through my second year of university. Whilst lockdown was around, I found it incredibly boring just sitting indoors. So, due to all university materials being readily available to me digitally, I took it upon myself to work full-time alongside my studies. During this job I felt that my time management skills were seriously put to the test. I thought working full-time would be easy due to 24/7 access of university study materials. However, I quickly learned that this would not be the case. I would have to prioritise tasks and organise when they would be done so I wouldn't fall behind my peers. I was able to catch on to this and I feel that it has benefitted me greatly. I now feel comfortable prioritisng important tasks and managing my time effectively. I also feel that this job greatly benefitted my productivity levels. Not having much time in the day for university study, meant that I had to use my time productively. It was hard to grasp at first because finishing work then going straight into a 2 hour lecture was alien to me, but I used my grit and determination to persevere.
