I have spent the last several years leading one of the primary data security initiatives at the Capital Group Companies. I am a strategic, resourceful, results-driven technologist with many years of experience working with a wide variety of operational and development teams. I have held a senior level position on multiple teams since 2005. I have continuously provided guidance, leadership, assurance, appreciation, advice, assistance, training, supervision, and a good example of success for all these teams. People are very comfortable with my leadership style, and they trust me to help them be successful in their assignments, roles, and careers. I am also very comfortable presenting ideas, recommendations, and status updates to Senior Management as well as Executives. I am a collaborative leader and logical team contributor with demonstrated successes working multiple, concurrent, projects and initiatives.For the last 7 years I led the effort for the Vulnerability Management team to initially identify, evaluate and recommend a new vulnerability detection tool. We acquired Qualys Vulnerability Management, Detection and Response tool (VMDR) in 2015. I was assigned the role of subject matter expert and primary point of contact for that tool. I designed a deployment strategy, scanning methodology, scoping, authentication model and scanning schedule. Over the years we expanded the VM team to 6 and broadened the scope to include over 140 virtual scanners, targeting all our offices, all client systems, all servers, all printers and peripheral devices, Oracle, MySQL and Microsoft SQL databases, VMware vCenter Servers and VMs, Cisco network devices, Palo Alto firewalls, and all cloud serviced instances (AWS and Azure) leveraging both authenticated as well as agent-based scans. We implemented automated dashboards, reporting, and remediation ticketing using ServiceNow. Implementing this tool significantly reduced CG’s exposure to vulnerabilities, and risk, every single day.
