Its truly amazing how fast 15 years can fly by in your career. Like Ferris Bueller said, "If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it". Both life lessons and professional lessons at this point in my life that I can take away at this point are eye opening and educational for my future development and helping with future development of others as well. Various tasks, challenges, jobs, conflicts, problems, etc. that I have encountered in the real world, again both business and personal, are so much more valuable than anyone could teach in a classroom. My message about this, make sure you aren't afraid and get your hands dirty. I've come from a background in Criminal Justice with the hopes of being in some sort of law enforcement or government agency, to working in banking, logistics, and finally falling into the insurance industry, which when I was little I dreamt about doing and getting into.... :) had to make you chuckle if you got this far, and succeeding by taking on challenging tasks and projects over the years. I have been fortunate to have worked my way up for an amazing company while being able to network with both internal and external businesses within my company and create relationships with those areas. I have learned so much about the insurance industry and how it isn't all about "insurance". I am excited for the next chapter in my career and look forward to the challenge of my new roles the insurance industry is providing me.
