As this prime contractor’s sole safety professional, manage all aspects of safety for 140 employees and 160+ subcontractors (multiple trades), and ensure HSE standards are maintained company-wide (Edmonton, Calgary, Fort McMurray, Regina).• Support Site Superintendents in completing residential and commercial construction projects safely and efficiently.• Provide safety leadership to 300+ workers and foster a positive safety culture to engage workers/supervisors in safety.• Coach and mentor supervisors and workers on company safety policies, OH&S and environmental regulations.• Develop and instruct in-house safety training programs, coordinate external training and maintain training records.• Conduct safety inspections, safety observations, safety audits, annual COR audits and safety documentation reviews to monitor all jobsites for HSE compliance; track subcontractor non-compliance and address issues in formal meetings.• Participate in weekly/monthly safety meetings and hazard assessments; distribute HSE information to all jobsites.• Conduct incident/accident investigations and root cause analysis; initiate and follow up on corrective action.• Prepare monthly, quarterly and yearly safety reports; control all safety documentation and maintain MSDS.• Manage company fleet (20 vehicles) and all safety equipment; coordinate inspections, maintenance, repairs & purchases.

- Provide equipment safety training certification in accordance with OHS legislation, safety and training policies and procedures.- Conduct hazard assessment and equipment inspections prior to start of training.- Receive customer calls and work with customers to schedule classes- Track training, prepare and deliver certificates/wallet cards to customers, prepare invoices for customer- Work with Area and Zone operations and sales management to create training marketing tools- Make sales calls with Sales Reps, Shop Supervisors, etc. and report to Region Safety Manager on a monthly basis- Work with Branch Managers to ensure all employees' safety training is up-to-date. Provide necessary training if incomplete.- Monitor new hire safety training and assist Branch Managers with compliance- Monitor and assist with the completion of recurrent training. Establish a schedule for completion.- Ensure that all safety training is entered into Training/Learning Management System- Ensure that all branches have adequate FA and CPR trained employees- Assist Managers with Tool Box Safety Training compliance. -Leads the Sysco Safe program. Coordinates efforts with Safety Manager to aid in training, conducting associate observations, up-dating preferred work methods, conducting accident investigations to determine root causes, and routine safety inspections.-Supervises the daily work and safety of Delivery Associates, including adherence to standard operating procedures, adherence to planned routes, and providing safe and efficient customer service.Ensures Delivery Associate compliance with regulatory agencies and ensures that logs are kept current and accurate.Supervises labor hours and prepares work schedules including extra work days and shifts as needed.-Interprets, trains, and consistently enforces company policies, protocols and procedures including but not limited to food safety, record keeping, etc.-Communicates with Sales Management and Marketing Associates to collaboratively resolve any customer or delivery opportunities or issues.
