Design Supervisor
Current• Lead a cross-functional design team responsible for producing accurate installation drawings, details, B.O.M.’s & shop assembly prints• Served as the Interim Design Manager and primary point of contact for the design department• Manage and schedule workload and workflow within my team and design department• Utilize quality control tools to analyze, track and improve upon team and department metrics.• Establish department and individual goals that align with strategic initiatives• Work closely with the sales management, project management and professional engineers and manufacturing to develop and implement product improvements and new products• Responsible for searching for, interviewing, and hiring new designers and engineers• Create detailed 2D conceptual drawings of industrial paint line products and system layouts to meet customers’ specifications.• Review industrial products & designs before final release to manufacturing floor.• Actively participate on the Change Management team to review, implement and improve company procedures, products, designs & tools.• Core team member of our BPI (Business Process Improvement) team that implemented & developed new processes and procedures with our new ERP system (IFS8 & IFS10)• Direct & participate in Lean Kaizen events to improve workflow, products, and companywide communication• Build leadership skills and coach members within my team to improve their project management tactics, time management and customer/co-worker communication strategies
