Team Accomplishments & Accountabilities:The "Freestanding Desk Team" delivered to the market a complete new metal desking platform into a product category in which Herman Miller was not participating. First & second year sales of this product eclipsed the sales forecast by 40 % and grabbed market share from our major competitor. "Passage" is making major inroads in the $300 million dollar freestanding desking market because the product launched "on time", at the projected cost targets, and with quality customers expect from Herman Miller products. This product won Gold at NeoCon 1998 in the New Product category. The "Ped Product Development Team" re-designed the HMI metal storage pedestal so that it could be manufactured on HMI's first "lean" mixed model production line. The "Central Database Team" integrated Mapics with the BAAN MRP system and was responsible for completing the implementation of a knowledge based configuration system used by the Meridian customer service group.Reported to: Vice President of Freestanding Product Development.

Accomplishments & AccountabilitiesMaintained complete responsibility for the research and development of Brunswick Capital Equipment Group. Managed a department comprised of four full time engineers and several contract technicians and designers. Managed an expense budget of $1 million. Directly responsible for the release of the "Frameworx" Furniture Line. Hold multiple utility & design patents on many of the Brunswick capital equipment products, the most successful product being Brunswick synthetic lane systems which has had a 98% customer satisfaction rating since its release in 1988. Charter member of Brunswick TQM steering committee and also had a major role in the engineering portion of Brunswick's ISO 9001 registration.Extensive experiences in budgeting, project planning, and hands on experience managing several projects simultaneously.Design experience with various materials including woods plastics, rubber & metal. Visited many different manufacturing production facilities to understand product processing.Traveled both domestically and internationally to participate in field-testing to obtain customer input for new product development.Reported to: Vice President of the Core Business Team.
