About Mike Walsh
Repair. Improve. Tinker. Adapt. Resolve. I have always loved doing these things! And I built a successful career in IT because solving technical problems is so rewarding. My most recent and longest tech job began at Oracle in 1996. Early tasks were to roll out Windows versions and work on images for laptops and desktops. This continued through many Windows versions, security implementations, Wi-Fi rollouts, VPNs, and cloud apps. The goal is always to resolve employee problems via phone, email, chat or in person, to restore or improve their productivity, and keep them happily working. And that is deeply satisfying to me.Most recently, I helped employees transition from Windows 7 to 10, helped them set up new computers while they worked from home, and did my work remotely. My incident notes in a ticketing system were always detailed to help others on the support team, should the issues recur.As additional tasks, I used my advanced skills in English to create clear, easy-to-follow training documents, guides, and knowledge articles to help employees work smoothly with technology.
