Responsible for managing over ten million dollars of labor and material resources annually in a department of 75 naval architects, structural and outfit engineers, designers, and draftspersons. Developed the detail design & production information for two new classes of high speed aluminum naval ships, the Joint High Speed Vessel (JHSV) and Littoral Combat Ship (LCS). Oversaw implementation of efficiencies in production via design improvements allowing transformation of a cost plus contract environment to fixed price with savings of over $200 million dollars per ship.

I was responsible for development of all build strategy documentation and heavy lift/transportation plans for the Matson 2600 and 2500 teu container vessels and the early stage project planning for the 46,000 dwt product tanker designed by Hyundai Mipo Dockyards. Via implementation of build strategy improvements and lessons learned, delivery times were reduced by over 35% during my tenure at KPSI.

Marghera, Italy

I was responsible for the inspection and acceptance of all steel and welding with a team of 6 inspectors for the construction of the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder at Fincantieri Shipyards. I also conducted plan approval of structural and outfitting drawings and briefed Disney senior management on technical developments related to naval architecture and structural design.

I supported construction of U.S Naval vessels including CG-47 class, DDG-51 class, and LHD-1 class, built at Ingalls as Lead Naval Architect on sea trials, launchings, and dry-dockings.
