Asia Pacific Regional Learning ManagerHewlett-Packard Nov 2011 - Apr 2014Through this period I prioritised growing the capability of top partners with a view to increasing sales and consulting effectiveness. I introduced a revised sales curriculum following many months of internal effort to ensure the offerings reflected regional and priority country needs. Supporting this, I introduced the Business Advantage Program that recognised partner skills achievements and provided incremental benefits to qualifying partners. In addition to this, the curriculum was also inserted in the development plans of HP field employees, meaning that partners and employees leveraged the same content to build the same skills. Finally, I introduced the HP Institute program in Asia Pacific; an academic program targeted at universities and colleges that integrated real world IT learning into the existing academic curriculum. Key highlights:- Implemented major improvements to learner experience including introduction of My ExpertOne learning portal in Asia Pacific. Established a strong learning marketing function.- Introduction of subscription based “Learning Plans”.- Drove a localisation program that achieved the goal of having all key curricula, content and exams launched in Asia Pacific available in Japanese and Simplified Chinese.- Launched and drove adoption of completely new case study and scenario based sales training for employees and partners in Asia Pacific. -

It was during this period that the HP/Compaq merger was announced and I became part of the merger planning team for Asia Pacific.

Systems Engineering ManagerCompaq 1990 - 2000I joined Compaq in the very early days of PC servers (Compaq SystemPro) to run the fledgling Systems Engineering function. Over a decade I took a small team and expanded to a nationwide team of Technical Sales Professionals of about 35 who provided Technical pre-sales consulting to Australia’s largest corporations. This national role embraced other facets of the business including Technical Training, Solutions Centres and Technical Support. Each of these other functions was grown to a size and level of maturity that they were spun off as separate divisions.During this period, my key responsibility was to manage the nationwide team to provide technical pre-sales consulting services to Compaq’s largest accounts. Compaq’s meteoric revenue growth during this period was a testament to the professionalism and capability of this team. During this period, I also adopted a small portfolio of accounts including Telstra and Qantas with which Compaq enjoyed great success.
