Responsible for planning, overseeing and supervising a wide range of IM/IT task and projects from start to finish at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC) in Bethesda, MD!!• Overseeing the administration, operation, and monitoring of the CBMH Local Area Network/Wireless Local Area Network (LAN/WLAN) network electronics to ensure network availability, continuity, and connectivity• Advise on the installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of networking devices such as routers, switches, Wireless Access Point, etc.• Assist in isolating network hardware and software problems and taking corrective steps to restore services.• Advise on updating the physical configuration of the network electronics hardware, software, or firmware to meet new or changing requirements and/or to improve network performance for both the wired and wireless networks.• Assist in creating internal and external networks through the use of the open systems interconnection (OSI) model and management of the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) stack.• Assist in establishing, monitoring, and reporting on network performance baselines. This includes assisting in establishing performance baselines for network devices and systems, monitoring performance for network devices and systems, and reporting network device and system performance.• Assisting in the configuration of selected network assets are backed up periodically.• Assisting in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions, and/or modifications to the network infrastructure that affect CBMH operations.
