About me:I’ve flown millions of miles for my work as a professor, entrepreneur, director, summit organizer, and policy advisor in the health and technology fields. My PhD focused on Japan’s samurai warriors in the sixteenth century. About Ascent Partners:We do high-intensity transformation projects that require cultural skill and a creative technology application. Building on our destination management projects with the State of Hawaii, we help our clients navigate the complex reality of transformation to reimagine travel and hospitality.We are active members of the Tourism and Hospitality Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ). The governments of the US and Japan have named 2024 as the Year of Tourism. This is the first time the two nations have celebrated a Tourism Year, which seeks to promote greater travel, business, and tourism in both directions. The goal of this initiative is to continue to regrow travel and tourism flows, enhancing social and economic cooperation and mutual understanding between both countries.This will also be our professional and personal focus in 2024.
