I’m a narrator; I read words out loud, catch them and send them to people. I’d love for you to be one of the people I send words to. Here is where I would insert something quirky or self-deprecating in the hopes of catching your eye...er...ear. Instead, let’s get down to those brass tacks everyone talks about. A lot of artists do “voice-over” work. One-off commercials, over-the-top sales pitches…that sort of thing. While I could bust out a fabulous car salesman, Justice League announcer or HAL 9000…well, I’m sorry ‘Dave’, I’m afraid I’m not going to do that. There are many good folks out there who do character voices much better than me. When it comes to elearning and website introductions, however, you’re looking for a voice that engages your client without distracting them from your message. That’s me. People think that doing a commercial is the best part of voice work. Sure, it pays, but I’m looking for a partnership with a solid customer. Someone who’s looking for a consistent message. A literal “voice of your business”. I’ve been doing narrations for 15 years. I’ve got a recording booth and editing station in my home.
