Sr. Director, Marketing Operations
2021 Marketing Impact Award WinnerI built strategic Marketing Operations team which was responsible for our Website experience and optimization, data engineering and analytics, the Marketing Technology strategy, and Lead/Account management processes and frameworks. This team's success started from building a strong data foundation. We focused on core capabilities in data management and unification after bringing together many disparate data sources that would help uncover the total addressable market for the company. From the TAM a set of target accounts were established based on the ideal customer profile of our existing customer base to give our go-to-market motion a place to start. The analytics foundation was built in Google Big Query. We leveraged tools like Fivetran to easily extract data from our core systems where our Analytics Engineer and Marketing Analyst would then restructure data to curate data sources ready to serve a variety of sales and marketing dashboards and analysis. We used Tableau to deliver data sources and dashboards to teams to consume data or use it for self serve analysis. The marketing technology strategy was focused on enabling multi-channel customer journey orchestration. We started from scratch implementing the first instance of a marketing automation tool. We were able to get the foundational tools in place and launched an new user onboarding program leveraging in-product actions within the 15 months of starting which was a great accomplishment and evidence of being able to deliver on the vision we built. We had a very clean and performant website. Our goal was to maintain that while building out the capabilities needed for a marketing team to build and manage content on the site without the help of a web engineer. We used WordPress in a headless CMS configuration. We saw some great success almost doubling form conversion rates from simple improvements like adding picklists, and using dynamic form complete from Clearbit.
Director, Marketing Operations
Leading a team of 18 and overseeing a $8M budget, I was responsible for setting our marketing operations & technology strategy; developing our account / contact scoring & lead attribution models; optimizing our marketing & sales funnel to maximize pipeline and revenue; building out and managing our customer data platform (CDP), data structure, and our approach to integrated digital journeys; managing reporting and insights; setting and executing against our email channel strategy; and driving our onsite and virtual event technologies and infrastructure, including for a 100k+ person Tableau conference. In addition to my direct responsibilities, I was selected by our CMO to be on a taskforce to redesign our marketing organization, including developing the roles, responsibilities, and processes to support the new structure. During the Salesforce company integration project I was the Marketing Systems and Data LeadOur Marketing Operations leadership group participated in a 6 month Leadership training cohort that build a lot of valuable skills in problem solving and organizing to effectively drive change. Some of the projects we managed included: -6sense as a predictive lead and account scoring tool to help our sellers and marketers better understand intent signals, provide new data points for more effective targeting and prioritize. -re-architecting our technology stack to better enable integrated multi-channel marketing campaigns-introducing a later of technology governance in partnership with technology leaders across the department and external technology teams to allows us to better manage a growing technology stack across a large team-modifying existing sales process in partnership with sales leaders, sales operations, and marketing to provide clear SLAs and how to prioritize inbound leads-partnered closely with our website team to implement an improved digital attribution model to track what offers our visitors engaged with and how they got there

Team Lead, Marketing Operations
Marketing Operations Specialist
Very broadly my role at Tableau is focused on managing the flow of data from marketing to sales using Eloqua. I am our team's admin for the tool and have a deep understanding of all facets of Eloqua. I have been able to apply past experience as an SFDC admin in working with our SFDC admins to create a sophisticated integration instance at Tableau that is ever evolving. I use our own product everyday to monitor data flow and assist the team with our department's analytics projects and dashboards. I honestly don't know how I would do my job the way I do today without Tableau. Marketing operations is a great mix of marketing innovation, analytics and systemic skills that I have enjoyed since day one, and has only been enhanced by working where I do now.
Marketing Operations Specialist
Our marketing operations department is awesome as we cover a great breadth of marketing activities keeping it a fast paced and action packed work day. There is way too much to go over but here is a quick break down of some things we own. We take care of customizing HTML for individual event invites and linking those to registration landing pages we create and track through Eloqua. Eloqua is integrated through Salesforce so all campaign attribution and contact records are synced that way. We do our list uploads and scoring through Eloqua as well which again all push to Salesforce (SFDC). In SFDC we take care of all reporting needs and our campaign attribution to provide visibility into our team's marketing efforts and successes. We customized our reporting process by exporting our reports into Excel which I have automated through VBA to alleviate the pain of having to manually manipulate everything every time we want to paint our picture. We have a great customized instance of SFDC to help us track what we need. This is the tip of the ice berg let me know if you want to get into the weeds of what a Field Marketing Operations team does and how we do it!
