He has served on various committees and task forces within NSCC and A*STAR, including a tenure at the A*STAR Compute Resource Centre.Mike has extensive experience in utilizing HPC to advance computational materials chemistry and catalysis for applied research and industry collaborations. His expertise includes first-principle calculations, molecular dynamics simulations, and informatics to design new materials for applications such as catalysts, alloys, energy storage, electronics, and organic solar cells.He has co-led significant grant projects, including the Accelerated Catalyst Development Platform (ACDP) and Accelerated Materials Development for Manufacturing (AMDM). Within ACDP, he focused on high-throughput calculations and helped to develop a workflow software for catalyst screening called CatPlat.Academically, Mike holds a Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota and a B.A. from St. John’s University, Collegeville, MN. He has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers in the fields of chemistry, materials science, and physics.
