I played a key role at Cypress on the Developer Experience (DX) team to empower developers to build and ship higher quality software faster than ever before by designing and implementing highly prescriptive and practical solutions and providing thought-leadership to the developer community while challenging the status quo of software testing.

3PL Central is an organization chock full of talent, ripe with potential and an audacious vision. I contributed to the company's success with front-end automation using Cypress, improved processes around testing and quality code with scalability in mind.As the lead engineer with an automation-focused background, I was responsible for both automation architecture and high-output development while mentoring and enabling engineers to contribute effectively. Maintained a tidy codebase using Git, Gitlab, VSCode, a custom ESLint ruleset and experimented with the latest ECMAScript standards (i.e. tc39, ES6+, etc.), static typing and functional programming paradigms. In 2020, I accomplished my goal to revamp end-to-end testing of their React application from the ground up, with an updated framework (Cypress), new architecture, teaching engineers the best practices and JavaScript principles I was applying. I configured CI/CD (Gitlab) to lint code and run tests on every commit and scheduled pipeline runs daily and in line with the release cadence. The end result was smoother, more confident releases, less regression and happier engineers.

Built an end-to-end testing suite from scratch in preparation for the general availability of a new product to make big waves in the security and home automation industry. Used Javascript (NodeJS) with Cypress (cypress.io) which is a cutting-edge test framework and the future successor to Selenium Webdriver.Lead the QA effort by endorsing the philosophy that quality is owned by the entire development team.
