Chapman then served as the first Legislative Director for former U.S. Senator Tim Johnson and worked closely with Johnson over the 28 years he served in the U.S. House and U.S. Senate.Following his time on Capitol Hill, Chapman was a Congressional lobbyist for the National Association of Realtors in Washington D.C. In that capacity, he worked successfully on issues affecting banking regulation, tax policy, environmental regulatory relief, housing and mortgage finance. Chapman next served as a Congressional lobbyist for the American Medical Association where he successfully worked to pass legislative initiatives addressing health system reform, Medicare, lawsuit reform and public health, before co-founding the DC Strategies Group, where he is currently based.Mike Chapman is an alumnus of Texas State University, where he was twice elected student body president, and of The Johns Hopkins University, where he received a Master of Arts in Government, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
