Manager of four natural area preserves. Responsible for creating work plans and budgets for yearly operations. In charge of the continued restoration and maintenance of meadow, woodland and wetland ecosystems involving yearly field mowing and prescribed burning, identification and mechanical and chemical management of nonnative species, tree planting, converting pond to wetland habitat, and other activities aimed at increasing native biodiversity. Additional responsibilities include trail building and equipment maintenance. Particular focus on avian species. Performed point counts, led birding tours and made presentations to groups of local birders. Successfully built and installed nest boxes that have been inhabited by cavity nesting species.

Invasive Species Management. Part of the Masters of Landscape Architecture Program.

Worked both independently and under the supervision of Dr. David Robertson in virtually all aspects of land management. Involved heavily in the removal both mechanically and by herbicide of non-native plant species and the reintroduction of native vegetation. Participated in the restoration of native grasslands and native woodlands. Completed breeding bird point counts and kept daily records of the birds present on the preserve throughout the year. Supervised activities of summer help and community service workers.

I worked as a custom woodworker (cabinet/ furniture-maker) in a small business, creating high-end furniture and cabinets. Highly skilled position with a large amount of independent decision making.
