I work with projects and programmes of all scales to support delivery of end-to-end cloud architecture, and implement designs based on requirements, strategic drivers, best practices, and guidance. Ensuring that any designed solution is fit for purpose, meets business needs, and can highlight any areas of deficiency or strategic conflict.I play an active part in the realisation of the desired business outcomes, which can involve the actual build out of cloud infrastructure, using templates (ARM/Jenkins/Terraform) or similar approaches to enforce compliance to standards and patterns.

The Infrastructure Design team is a small team responsible for ensuring design governance is maintained and providing designs for projects and engineering initiatives. The design team is a cross domain technical team within the infrastructure function and are responsible for the overall technical infrastructure delivery on both infrastructure led projects and application led projects.To be responsible for the delivery of Infrastructure designs and project consultancy to the rest of the organisation.To provide technical support to the engineering and operational teams.To provide technical consultation to the application teams.To support the continuous improvement of the Infrastructure function through operational and process improvement initiatives.

The IT architecture team are responsible for designing and delivering strategic infrastructure projects for the corporation, they are the last point of escalation for all internal and customer IT systems. Responsible for internal network and server environment and dealing with suppliers relating to the same;Network was comprised of an MPLS WAN comprising 1 DC, 10 UK offices and one office in Dubai, this was a complex switching and routing environment based on HP Procurve, Cisco routers, Juniper and Watchguard firewalls.Server environment was approximately 40 physical Dell servers, including Blackberry Enterprise server, a Highly Available VMWARE 3.5 farm with 2 SANs (Dell Equallogic, DELL EMC) and an active directory infrastructure of 5 DC's spread across two 4 full racks in multiple locations. Software environment was entirely Microsoft (server 2003, 2008 and 2008 R2), comprising multiple servers and instances of SQL 2000, 2005, 2008 R2, Microsoft Sharepoint 2007, 3x Exchange 2003 servers with external smarthost mxlogic and Google Postini Journalling.User environment was initially run using HP thin clients connecting to Microsoft Terminal Services, I singlehandedly designed and implemented a new Citrix Xenapp farm and created all group policies and scripts necessary for extremely strict internal security policies, also configured Citrix Access Gateway for iPad and iPhone access to remote desktop and other published applications.

Responsible for internal network and server environment and dealing with suppliers relating to the same;Network was an ADSL WAN with one primary site and 3 remote sites, remote sites connected to primary site using IPSEC VPN's over a Watchguard Firewall, internal routing and switching was managed with a highly available HP Procurve solution.Server environment was approximately 30 physical HP servers, including a HP Blade Chassis, a Highly Available VMWARE 3 farm with SAN connectivity using HP EVA 5000, and a Juniper SA SSL VPN server.Software environment was entirely Microsoft (server 2003, 2008 and 2008 R2), comprising multiple servers and instances of SQL 2005, 2008 R2, Microsoft Sharepoint 2003 and 2007, initially Exchange 2003 (I planned and implemented a migration to Exchange 2007) with external smarthost messagelabs (later migrated to iCritical).User environment was initially run using HP thick clients running Windows XP, I singlehandedly designed and implemented a new Citrix Presentation Server 4 farm and created all necessary group policies and scripts, this I later migrated to Citrix PS 4.5, also configured Citrix Secure Gateway for remote access.Initially started as IS Support technician, supporting all 1st/2nd line support queries and supporting hardware issues, job title and responsibilities changed and grew over the years until I was promoted to network technician in mid 2008 with the responsibilities listed above.

This was a temporary role I took after Nice CTi Systems, this was only ever meant to be a stop gap position and served well as such, it was at times interesting work, I was responsible for collating evidence and ensuring all relevant statements and evidence had been seen by both the defence, prosecuting barrister and magistrate's office.Clearly there was a high level of responsibility and discretion involved in this role, I stayed there until I was able to find a 1st line support role the suited my career aspirations.

I was the only RMA coordinator for the EMEA area and as such, I was solely responsible for coordinating all returns and repairs, this involved working closely with the workshop facility in the new forest and required weekly meetings with them to confirm status of repair and ensure repair targets were being met.In this role I dealt with a large number of companies largely from the UK and western Europe, this was a highly focussed customer service role that involved working to tight deadlines and keeping customers up to date with their RMA status.I was enjoying this role as it was a challenging position in which priority and deadline management was key, unfortunately however the company was undergoing a merger, ultimately I was made redundant as the entire service operations base was moved to Israel.
