From 2008 through 2016 I owned and operated my own companies and during that time I was very privileged to work with an energetic and dedicated group of people. Our team’s primary focus was infrastructure, commercial and residential concrete formwork. My personal responsibilities included all of the day to day activities in running the corporation; from marketing services and sourcing work to estimating and project management, I looked after whatever task was at hand to ensure that our clients were serviced to an unexpected degree and that we delivered their projects to them in a manner well above any industry standard.

As construction manager for the development, my responsibilities included:• Providing direction for form and character of the building projects• Issuing RFP’s to consultants and choosing the consultant team for infrastructure and buildings• Working with the consultants on subdivision design and approvals• Consult regularly with municipal planning departments to ensure conformance to, or if required the amendment, of the OCP• Submission and follow up with municipal planning department on development and building permit application process • Liaise with local fire department and RCMP during design for the best interest of public safety• Working with the architect, owner and marketing team in schematic design phase to refine the individual project functional programming• Preliminary estimating and budget work• Coordinating consultant team through design development and construction document phases• Creation and implementation of Safety and Loss Management systems• Creating, issuing and awarding of tender packages• Project scheduling and resource loading• Complete project cost control and forecasting• Job Cost reporting & liaise with lender’s quantity surveyor
