Supports the president’s goals and objectives at an intrinsic and professional level, anticipates operational and tactical needs to support and carryout the vision established by the President and the Board of Trustees. Plays a significant role in board relations and the development of a cohesive board culture. Serves as an integral player in the successful execution and implementation of major institutional initiatives including the Antiracism implementation plan. Oversees the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College.

Served as the outward facing branch of a Co-CEO team for a top-tier liberal arts institution while the college searched for its 14th president. Was the point person for all presidential responsibilities and provided leadership for the continued success of all aspects of the college while specifically supporting the divisions of Advancement, Athletics and Communications. Worked closely with the Board of Trustees Executive Committee, Standing Committees, and Strategic Project Teams, in order to navigate the pandemic and racial tensions while continuing to meet the goals of our strategic plan.Accomplishments• Successfully navigated a national pandemic, preventing layoffs, furloughs or salary cuts, as well as retaining an on-campus academic component by implementing a state-of-the-art COVID testing site and contact tracing protocols • Secured a $33.5 million dollar donation—the largest financial donation in the college’s history• Led large institutional changes towards becoming an anti-racist institution, including implementing three new senior level diversity and equity positions• Served as the first Black president in the college’s 147-year history • Involved in the recruitment and hiring of a new Division 1 hockey coachHigher Education Involvement• Acting treasurer of the Independent Higher Education of Colorado Association• Served on the Board of Directors of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference• Served on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Presidents Council

Served as the Chief Student Affairs Officer. Provided executive leadership and vision in administering a comprehensive range of programs and services for the following co-curricular programs and departments: Campus Activities, Collaborative for Community Engagement, Student Health and Wellness, New Student Orientation, Career Center, Student Union, Outdoor Education, Greek Life, Residential Life, The Center for Equity and Diversity, Student Conduct, Campus Safety, Parking, and Honnen Ice Arena.Accomplishments• Developed the Outdoor Education program and Gear House, Butler Center (hub for diversity and equity), Advising Hub, New Student and Winter Start Orientation• Oversaw the construction of several new residential apartment buildings, and the renovation of multiple traditional residence halls• Served as the College’s chief discipline officer and spearheaded a review of discipline practices and procedures in order to be in-line with our anti-racist initiatives• Coordinated responses to student crisis situations • Served as a chief advocate for students in all capacities, ensuring that the college is meeting their needs• Co-chaired the College’s Retention and Student Satisfaction Studies with the goal of highlighting ways to improve and increase retention/satisfaction• Served as a representative to major campus committees including the Presidential Task Force, Athletics Board, and Diversity Task Force• Represented the Student Life Division to the Board of Trustees• Worked daily with the Dean of the Faculty and the Dean of the College on both curricular and institutional matters• Functioned as a liaison of the college to the greater Colorado Springs community and the state of Colorado
