As a Fleet Manager I was responsible for the overall productivity and performance my assigned drivers and tractors. I accomplished this through continually reviewing key performance indicators, followed by active participation in strategies to positively affect results. I was a leader for the entire department, providing direction and support on a day to day basis. My fleet consistently met and exceeded monthly company targets.

This included monitoring of the fleet, answering phone calls and processing satellite messages, accurately distributing, receiving and updating information, identifying and participating in the resolution of issues related to day to day activities of the drivers and fleet.

I was responsible for my own fleet of 40+ trucks and drivers. My duties included acquiring and negotiating new freight, planning and dispatching each driver / tractor, scheduling equipment maintenance, reporting on and monitoring fleet performance. I worked with many different commodities and pieces of equipment, ranging from Liquid Food grade bulk tankers, to food grade pneumatic dry bulk trailers, 20 Ton crane trucks, ocean containers, flat decks and dry vans.
