I joined the DoubleDutch design team in December of 2015 as the primary product designer for iOS and Android. I acted as my own Product Manager and worked with my Project Manager to determine the product road map and priorities to best move our product forward. My team launched improved agendas to better support larger, more complex events and their attendee needs. We converted the navigation of the mobile app away from the hamburger menu and over to a more conventional and modern tab navigation. With many attendees being registered by another individual at their company, or just forgetting their password they set at registration, we wanted to make it easier for attendees to get into the app they needed. As a result we introduced an automatic login feature. This allows people to securely log in to their event app without requiring a password, making the login process smoother and more successful.

I joined Humble Bundle as the 3rd designer on their creative team, with my focus being on improving the customer and developer experience. Humble Bundle sells bundles of content in a pay-what-you-want model where you also decide the allocation of funds. Customers can split the purchase price between the content creator, Humble Bundle, or charity. To date Humble Bundle has donated over $65 million to charity.In my time with Humble Bundle we designed and launched several notable features, including Humble Monthly, Build Your Own Bundle, and Choose Your Own Charity.

Design at Twitter required working with a balance of existing product components and proposing entirely new solutions within the realistic bounds of engineering feasibility and time. Working with the other members of the design team also demands constant communication in all directions to ensure work was not doubled, and that related solutions would be used together in sync to unify the experience. While at Twitter I was part of the logged out homepage redesign, intended to help non-registered people understand the appeal and pulse of Twitter. This project required extensive user testing to inform our revisions before conducting more testing, steering ourselves towards a logged out experience that made sense, and was enjoyable. My team was also responsible for the Twitter FIFA World Cup mobile experience in 2014. This project broke the ice for a revised sports experience on Twitter, and was shown in the Twitter television spot for the 2014 World Cup campaign.

I joined Artefact to work with a design team to create new experiences and explore future feature sets for smart TVs.After several months of ideation, design, testing, iteration, and development, we created a new television experience unlike any other currently available.This was an opportunity to explore the opportunities that new technology has afforded us in the entertainment sector, and to use these advances to create previously impossible experiences. We overcame the challenges associated with indirect input methods, as well as the challenge of multiple input methods for a single user interface working consistently in all cases.Learning from, and progressing the standards of television presented opportunities to redesign core functionalities in a way that unified the different use cases and users. In the end, consistent design, detailed wireframes, and task flows were essential to the creation of a content-rich prototype for our client to fully explore the experience we created.

As an Interaction Designer I primarily focus on ideating and exploring new interactions, systems, and innovations in digital environments to solve complex problems. My work with frog involved redesigning project management software from the ground up for a major multinational professional services firm.My work was ideation heavy, working closely with another Interaction Designer to reduce system redundancy and increase transparency and accountability within the company. Working collaboratively with other IxD, visual designers, design technologists, strategists and PMs we created a multi-platform simulation of our new offering. My IxD partner and I then recorded ourselves using the simulation and created a demonstration video for the client. The client was ecstatic when our work was delivered.

As a User Experience intern with Crispin Porter + Bogusky I conducted site and tool evaluations and analysis, create site-maps of client assets, as well as generated concepts for new client sites, applications, marketing material, packaging ideas, and campaign launches. CP+B is a fast paced and bold agency where I was able to be involved in a wide variety of projects and departments, contributing directly to the projects at hand.

In 2012 I was a teaching assistant for IAT 233 - Spatial Design at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC, Canada. As a design TA I evaluated and assisted with typography, layouts, architecture and urbanism assignments throughout the semester, including an urbanism design challenge taking place over a weekend in Seattle, WA.
