Senior Business Analyst

I worked on an Oracle Financial Data Warehouse playing multiple roles during this time. I acted as a lead business analyst and getting a very good understanding of various business areas that currently exist in the bank including Commercial Loans, Savings & Time Deposits, FX, Customer Reference Data, General Ledger, Credit Risk and Leasing. I also worked as a senior data anslyst gathering the data requirements for these different business areas and creating specification documents for how the data would be loaded into the warehouse.I have moved on to a second project which is a CORE Banking Transformation project. This project entails several new systems being implemented including PeopleSoft GL, a centralized reporting DWH, a new customer origination system for loans, deposits and FX. There are other systems to support the different business areas of the bank. I am working with the different business areas in the bank to gather their business, reporting and data requirements. Some of the areas that I’m working with are Accounting, Regulatory & Compliance, Private banking, Credit Risk, Loans & Deposits and FX. I’m reviewing the required data used by these business areas, the sources from which they are getting this data and how this data is being migrated into the new systems. This is a bank-wide project that is impacting all business areas.

Worked as a Senior Data Analyst on a project to develop a reporting system for various meta-data around the bank. (Ex: Reporting on total expenses billed to certain cost centers and then posted to the GL.) Worked on several different data sources (including excel data sources and ftp files). Analyze how data was generated and converted in the old system in order to replicate the processes.

Worked as a Senior Data Analyst on a project to centralize reference data including Security Master reference data. Working with a sub-set of Thomson Reuters data, known as DataStream, to map and define the different relationships of source data to various tables that are being designed to maintain the inbound reference data. Wrote functional requirement documents for the different ETL teams to load the data and the DBAs to create stored procedures for processing this data. Working with the ETL team to explain the different relationships in the data and how it can be retrieved from the model

Worked as a senior Business Analyst / Data Analyst on a project identifying user needs and data gaps to improve incoming data feeds for the Fixed Income Sales Credits Reporting Platform. Wrote business requirement documents (BRD) and functional requirement documents (FRD) to explain the requirements and the technical solution to the business and technical team. Performed deep analysis of Credit Default Swaps (CDS). This data was coming through in XML messages and I mapped this data and wrote up the business descriptions of these messages. I also looked at Interest Swaps and Currency Swaps to understand existing data, including reference data. I also started to look at Equity Swaps. This project is going across all FI products since the new reporting platform will need to report on all sales credits for sales traders.Worked as a Senior Business Analyst / Data Analyst on a major compliance project dealing with cancels and corrections on executed trades. An application is being built to identify and report any potential rogue trades that might be executed in the firm. This application will be used for all products that the firm is trading and in all regions that they are being traded in. Wrote business requirement documents, functional requirement documents and data feed specification documents to gather the required data for various products that will be reported in this application. Analyzed all data coming from the data sources to identify data gaps, data discrepancies and verify all data acceptance rules. I worked with data relating to Prime Brokerage, Longevity Markets, Global Foreign Exchange products.

Worked as a senior Data Analyst with the Data Governance team on a project to centralize all reference data that is related to all employees. This data repository will be used to disseminate any and all required reference data to any of the applications that use reference data related to people. (Ex: Business Groups, Regions, titles, divisions, etc.). Met with business users to discuss data requirments for upcoming business initiatives and wrote up documentation to identify the current data and any potential data gaps that would need to be filled. I was also responsible for data cleansing to improve the quality of the data that was being loaded into the data warehouse.
