About me: With over 21 years in the music and events industries, I am an experienced event and festival director, producer, and manager, with a work history both in Texas and around the country. My primary event work experience is with production management, talent buying, site operations management, stage management, vendor management, promoter rep work, and site map / web / social media creation. I am currently working as an independent contractor with several companies, including Frontrunner Productions, LEO Events, Austin Theatre Alliance, Circuit of the Americas, and Mueller Scott Concepts. Sting's show the day prior also brought in tens of thousands of fans. In 2023, the overall event had 432,000 attendees with over 50,000 estimated each night at the Super Stage. Queen + Adam Lambert and The Killers were the headliners, along with Tiesto over at the amphitheater. In 2022, the overall event had 440,000 attendees with over 50,000 estimated each night at the Super Stage. I have been working on and off with this team since 2017 and was thrilled to return with them this year. In 2024, was the Operations Manager for several Frontrunner Events including:- Mad Soul Festival in Orlando, FL (March)- The District Cup Polo Match in WDC (June)- Broccoli City in WDC (July)- Kamala Harris Rally in Atlanta (November)The role for these events included coordinating my site crew, acquiring site operations vendors and negotiating terms / amounts, planning a build / strike schedule, and help with updating CADs / maps. I was also on the site team for the annual White House Easter Egg Roll this year, which involved working closely with Secret Service as well as Operations vendors. In 2018, I managed security for the California Democratic Convention in San Diego.In 2017, I managed security for the California Democratic Convention in Sacramento.In 2015, I managed security for the California Democratic Convention in Anaheim.With these roles, I managed all security, dignitary, and related operations needs for select FrontRunner Productions events. Acquired non-armed security, armed police, medical teams, and created deployment maps. Festival Operations ManagerAustin Moontower Comedy Festival Apr 2012 - PresentIn 2024, I brought on some new faces and helped them have another smoothly run year.In 2023, myself and Liza returned in the same roles and managed all overhires, which were used at all club show venues for the first time (resulting in our largest team to date). In 2022, Moontower was held on its normal dates in April, and expanded to two weekends. With Liza as my assistant, we divided and conquered the various club venues each evening and worked to help contain price increases and staffing shortages. In 2021, Moontower triumphantly returned, and even with staffing shortages & uncertainty with pandemic variants, we were able to put on a safe and successful comedy festival once again.In 2019, As Festival Special Ops Manager, continued in a similar role as last year, with a stronger focus on managing our Hospitality Operations Team. Led training sessions for staff and helped with volunteer training. In 2018, As Festival Special Ops Manager, continued to oversee the management of transportation, security, house / show manager staff, special ops staff, and volunteers. Will ensure all venues are ready to go each night. Also oversees any furniture orders and deployment. In 2017, as Festival Manager, oversaw the management and recruitment of all Show and House Managers as well as other related staff (approx. 30 people), led the recurring staff meetings, ensured all venues (10+) were ready to go each night, ordered and supervised production related vendors. Production ManagerTexas Craft Brewers Festival Jun 2017 - PresentAs Production Manager for the Texas Craft Brewers Festival, I am in charge of recruiting and managing the production and site operations teams (as one large group). I also oversee all production related vendors, collaborate on site design and layout, and ensure everything is built and dismantled during the course of the event. I manage a team of approximately 15 people. In 2024, the festival once again sold out and enjoyed cooler temperatures with a move to mid-November. In 2023, TCBF welcomed almost 5,000 people back to Fiesta for another year of tasty beer. In 2022, TCBF was fully sold out at its pre-pandemic capacity, welcoming 5,000 people to Fiesta Gardens once again. In 2021, the event came back from the Pandemic with another capacity crowd. In 2019, the event sold out the quickest it ever has, and we once again had a successful two days of programming. In 2018, the event sold out the week prior and we continued with the two days of Partners in Craft kicking off the event on Friday night followed by the main festival on Saturday. In 2017, the event sold out prior to show day and an extra evening of programming was added for the first time. Capacity for the evening event was around 250 and for the festival itself was 5,000.

Production ManagerDia De Los Muertos Festival Jun 2023 - PresentAs Production Manager for the long-running Muertos Fest in downtown San Antonio, my role in 2023 was to oversee the two main stages as well as hire a small team to put up signage and help manage other production and operations tasks. Over the two day free community event, Muertos Fest brings in over 100,000 people and features a daily procession of the altars as well as live music (headlined by Ozomatli in 2023), food vendors, art vendors, and a kid's area.In 2024, I returned as a Stage Manager (due to time commitments) and helped ensure the main stage ran smoothly.

Festival Director, Production ManagerAbc Kite Fest Mar 2018 - PresentThe Austin Kite Festival is one of Austin's longest-running events, in its 95th year for 2023. Average annual attendance at Zilker Park is 30,000+, and it is free to the public. In 2024, I returned as a Production Manager with the Festival Director role being moved back in-house for budgetary reasons, and helped ensure all production / stage elements ran smoothly. As Festival Director for 2023, I will be in charge of managing all operations, production, food / art, VIP, and kiddie areas of the festival. I will also help oversee permitting, negotiating with suppliers, staffing the onsite team, and building a production timeline. In 2021 and 2022, as Assistant Festival Manager I helped support the Festival Director with advancing as well as day to day operations. In 2019, as Food Vendor Manager, I helped acquire and oversee all of the food vendors for the event. In 2018, as the Kite Contest Stage Manager, I oversaw the announcing and management of the Kite Contest area within the festival grounds.

Founder / Creator - Festival And Event Production WorkshopsSelf-Employed Apr 2020 - PresentCreated and produced the first-ever FestivalAndEventProduction.com Production Workshop, held this past June in Austin, Texas over the course of 2 weeks (each workshop was 2 days long). These hands-on (with pandemic safety measures), small group workshops gave attendees a thorough understanding of various festival and event production areas, including: audio, lighting, backline, LED / video, power, rigging / stage labor, leadership, and event safety / COVID-19 strategies. Each area had a 2 hour session, whereby attendees were able to do and observe activities including powering on / off a generator; building a drum kit; ringing out the monitors, assembling an LED wall; tying rigging knots; wearing COVID-specific PPE; and much more. The workshops concluded with a session on compassionate leadership and Q & A featuring local event experts, including law enforcement, an event medical doctor, a K9 unit, and an entertainment lawyer. Festival DirectorFive Points Jazz Festival Jan 2022 - Oct 2024As Festival Director for the Five Points Jazz Festival in Denver, CO, I am in charge of putting together a team of managers, coordinators, and crew to produce this long running and free community event. Other duties included managing the overall budget, overseeing CAD updates, working with local police, fire, and security on the Emergency Action Plan, vetting out potential service providers (and negotiating on price), finalizing the build/strike and run of show schedules, and leading the team meetings. We welcomed over 50,000 people throughout the day, in which they enjoyed over 50 bands on 10 stages, along with blocks of art vendors and several food trucks. -
Festival DirectorBeen There 2 Festival Jul 2023 - Feb 2024For Been There 2, a benefit festival for The Other Ones Foundation, I was in charge of hiring an onsite festival staff, leading team calls, managing the production and operations budgets, and selecting various festival service providers and vendors. This event raised over $1,000,000 to help support The Other Ones Foundation, and was a successful execution both in person and online with our livestream donation platform. Headliners included The Pharcyde, Brownout, and HeartByrne.

Festival DirectorWonderfront Music Festival Jan 2019 - Feb 2024As Festival Director for the three day Wonderfront Music Festival, my primary responsibilities include fleshing out all staffing and primary vendor needs for the festival, as well as creating a master timeline, coordinating site visits and meetings, working with local officials and representatives, and keeping the festival within budget and executed in the best way possible. For the 2019 Festival (which featured Ben Harper, MGMT, Migos, and Dimitri Vegas as headliners), I led a team of over 150 staff who helped ensure that the 10 stages, 120+ bands, various festival activations (including Tony Hawk's halfpipe), and food / art vendors all went off successfully. The footprint was about 1.5 miles wide, and included parks, private parking lots, and port buildings. I also worked closely with San Diego Port Police, San Diego Fire & Rescue, San Diego Police, and various medical providers to create a unified command operation, safety plan, and emergency action procedures.For 2022, Wonderfront welcomed headliners Gwen Stefani, Kings of Leon, and Zac Brown Band. We adjusted our footprint from 2019, making for a more user-friendly design, and made various changes and upgrades throughout the site based on 2019 feedback (a wider bridge, for example).

Production Stage Manager - Dell Children'S Ball - Virtual EventDell Children'S Medical Center Foundation Dec 2020 - Jan 2024Austin, Tx, UsAs stage manager for the Dell Children's Ball, I helped advance the run of show / script with the planning team, managed one of two soundstages, and brought on a second stage manager for the second stage. This role also involved cueing speakers, ensuring the proper speakers were standing by when needed, and troubleshooting any tech, lighting, or video issues with the tech team. The Ball was able to raise over a million dollars in the few hours this program was live. In 2023, the Dell Children's Ball was held at the Fairmont Hotel and was fully in person, with a live stream component. The Dell Ball returned in 2022 in a hybrid format, and will be returning in 2023 as an in-person experience once again. -

Production ManagerOld Settler'S Music Festival Jan 2019 - Dec 2022As Production Manager for Old Settler's Music Festival, I am in charge of advancing all artists for 3 stages as well as overseeing the stage managers / stage crew, negotiating and advancing with production vendors, coordinating on security needs, and organizing the backstage compound / parking area. This festival, now in its third decade, is a 4 day camping festival about 45 minutes outside of Austin. Approximately 5,000 people attend per day. In 2019 we welcomed artists including Jason Isbell, Belinda Carlile, and The Lone Bellow.In 2020, the festival was unfortunately postponed due to the pandemic. In 2021, the festival came back with special October dates and featured Jamestown Revival, Jade Bird, Sam Bush, Fruition, and many more. In 2022, the festival returned to its usual dates in April and featured Del McCoury, Galactic, Leftover Salmon, Railroad Earth, and many more.

ProducerLewis Energy Group Aug 2017 - Dec 2019As a Co-Producer, I was hired as an independent contractor by Lewis Energy Group's primary event producer to help manage their semi-annual holiday party. This role involved organizing key documents (including the production timeline and security maps) as well as helping lead meetings, brief the staff, negotiate and oversee production vendors, and ensure a smoothly run event by acting as one of the primary liaisons between the client and the venue. In 2017, LEG held their holiday party at the Laredo Energy Arena and featured Huey Lewis & The News along with Los Lobos as musical talent. They took 2018 off but plan to be back for 2019.

Production ManagerSkyline Theater Feb 2016 - Oct 2018As Production Manager for the new 7,500 capacity outdoor venue the Skyline Theater at the Long Center in Austin, Texas, my role is to advance all production needs with the artists as well as work with all production vendors (staging, sound, lights, backline, video, barricade) to ensure all production needs are met. Day of show, I function as the Production / Stage Manager, ensuring that the bands load-in and set times stay on schedule, and I will act as a primary liaison between the artist PM and the venue. Our second concert season in 2017 included Bryson Tiller and Dirty Heads. Our first concert season in 2016 included Steve Miller Band, Culture Club, Boston, Need To Breathe, and the Goo Goo Dolls, among others. -
Festival DirectorLoufest Jun 2016 - Sep 2018As Festival Director for the 30,000 per day LouFest music festival based in St. Louis' Forest Park, I am in charge of overseeing the entire festival team, with a focus on Production, Artist Relations, VIP, Sponsors, Kid's Area, Security, Site Operations, Food & Art Vendors, and Media / PR. I am also in charge of building / recruiting our team of stage managers, artist relations and hospitality managers / staff, and a site manager / crew.This role also entails acquiring and negotiating with production and site vendors to properly accommodate both the artists as well as the crowds expected for this year's festival as well as overseeing CAD revisions, city relations, and coordinating with other events going on at the park. Stage Manager - Super StageEspn May 2015 - Jul 2015Bristol, Ct, UsAs a stage manager of the X Games Austin 2015 Super Stage, I was in charge of ensuring that all production elements were in order for the two X Games headliners, Nicki Minaj and Metallica. This required going through all of their technical riders, making sure all of the production vendors (including stage, lighting, sound, video, backline, and power) all had what they needed, and that each artist's production team felt comfortable with stage and related areas. I also helped ensure labor calls were properly staffed, and security deployments were in place around the stage. Estimated attendance was up to 25,000 people for Metallica. -
Event Production ManagerCircuit Of The Americas Oct 2013 - Jan 2015Austin, Tx, UsAs Event Production Manager for Circuit of the Americas, my job fell into two main areas:Assistant General Manager / Production Manager of the 14,000 capacity Austin360 Amphitheater. I was in charge of the production and operations teams to help ensure smoothly run concerts all season long. Concerts last year include Arcade Fire, Jimmy Buffet, KISS, and Nine Inch Nails.I was also the Lead Event Producer for RedFest, a three-day camping music festival held each Memorial Day Weekend. I was in charge of ensuring the production side of this festival is executed flawlessly and oversee a team of production, operations, and site personnel. Headliners included Tim McGraw, Florida Georgia Line, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. In addition to these two primary roles, I also acted as Production Manager for the X Games music festival component, advancing production details with all of the artists over four stages as well as creating and managing a staffing plan for stage management, stage labor, and artist relations. Headliners included Kanye West, Pretty Lights, and Flaming Lips.I was also the Lead Producer for the 4th of July Austin Symphony and Fireworks Event, acting as the main liaison between the Austin Symphony and COTA as well as organizing all of the production elements and ensuring everyone is on the same page with regard to staffing, site element placement, timeline, and various other event details. Helped ensure a smoothly run event with three artists, including a national headliner, for 15,000+ guests. In February of 2012, was a Field Manager for the USA Football Bowl game in Round Rock, Texas.
