Field Technology Officer

Tests, repairs, maintains and upgrades 800 MHz trunked radio system to include infrastructure, subcriber units (mobile and , portables) and dispatch consoles. Installs and maintains vehicular intercom systems used in fire fighting apparatus. Solely responsible for performing tests, repairs, maintenance and upgrades over 40 Whelen outdoor warning sirens covering three cities. Coordinates with FCC on frequency related issues and licensing.

Conducts/oversees the military training for 120 cadets. Acts as a counselor to cadets in professional and personal matters. Helps cadets adjust to military life style as needed. Allows cadets to see enlisted-officer interaction up close prior to becoming officers. Advises unit commander on disciplanary matters as required.

Eielson AFB (Fairbanks, AK) Supervised 12 technicians in maintaining network connectivity (routers, hubs and cabling). Work center rated “Excellent” for first time in annual unit quality assurance inspection, awarded Air Force Meritorious Medal.

Eielson AFB (Fairbanks, AK) Assumed role as Superintendant, Contingencies System Branch for 120 days. Supervised 34 technicians; rated “Excellent” during pre-deployment exercise and noted as “strength” to the base mission by inspectors.
