The WAMS team is responsible for the suite of applications used for asset management for the Electricity Networks Division of ActewAGL. The core system is Works, Assets, Systems & People (WASP) which maintained and regulated the information concerning the acquisition, configuration, maintenance and disposal of the assets involved in delivering electricity and street lighting services to customers in the Canberra region. The system also coordinates the issue & tracking of work packs to control the creation and maintenance of assets and their component assemblies, and linking the information to the Oracle purchasing, stores and payroll modules, ESRI ArcGIS, and the SCADA system. Mike was responsible for the project management of the Energy Networks IT projects and for all business process documentation and re-engineering of functions that had interfaces with WASP. Mike's team also implemented the POLES mobile inspection system, including the evaluation and installation of robust mobile access devices, and the testing and support of the linkages to the central WASP database, and allowed remote tasking of inspection teams and updating of system assets in a near real time environment.

NEC contracted to provide a Billing and Audit team to the Department of Defence to ensure that the Commonweath recieves value for the Telecommunications services that are purchased from external carriers. I was responsible for setting up the team, processes and procedures, keeping all stakeholders updated and engaged, and managing the overall strategy in our approach. The team is spread across a number of client sites thoughout Australia, and is responsible for the evaluation and billing for services on the Defence Voice Network, and attribution of charges, and investigations into usage on Defence owned communications equipment.

Providing project management services to Ericsson Australia and Hutchison Telecoms for adaptions to the '3' Mobile billing platforms. Responsible for manging the implementation of the SAM (Service Access Manager) system to reduce revenue bleed, Performance Explorer to allow enhanced measurement of critical processing metrics, and the initial design and implementation of the 3G Content Server Failover system to impove stability.

Select Software is the developer of the SELCOMM billing bureau service to telecommunications service providers, and Mike supervised the Billing Team responsible for the end-to-end process from call collection to bill delivery for 32 separate clients, ensuring that bill runs completed accurately and on an agreed timescale. This required consulting with clients to determine requirements for new billing functions, developing functional specs and ensuring that the development team meet the agreed timetables and advising clients on compliance with ACIF, ACA and TIO requirements.

New Tel was a licensed telecommunications carrier, servicing mobile and fixed wire retail customers using its own POPs and network in Australia as well as providing a wholesale service to smaller operators. My duties included, risk analysis, evaluation and planning of IT projects using a modified PRINCE methodology, liaison with stakeholders on project milestones and progress, the relationship management of vendors and suppliers, and supervising of all aspects of the end-to-end converged retail billing process from call collection through invoice delivery to the final accounting reports

Atmosphera were developing INTEBIS, a mobile telecommunications billing system for clients in Indonesia, the Philippines and India.. In August 1999 Siemens became aware that no Y2K testing had been carried out, and I was brought on board to conduct an emergency program to design testing procedures using UNIX and Informix SQL for the Y2K certification of INTEBIS, implementation and review of certification tests on the client sites, and the design of full regression testing procedures

KSCL were suppliers of JUPITER, a carrier grade customer care and billing system, used by more than 30 Tier 1 telecommunications carriers around the world, Mike managed a team of twelve supporting clients including British Telecom, Eircell, Smartone and CTM, and had overall responsibility for the quality and delivery of all software upgrades, ensuring that all fixes were provided promptly, correctly and within the resource budget.
