    Electrical Engineer
Meriam Process Technologies Jul 2010 - May 2012
    Cleveland, Ohio
-Lead in reengineering an obsolete digital pressure panel gauge to meet the demands for the current market. Responsibilities on the project included:*Creating embedded code in C for Dallas 8051. Incorporating the new pressure instrument and communication protocol while maintaining the same feel and function of the existing product.*Build programming and test fixtures with accompanying work instructions for manufacturing. *Maximize utilization of the existing stock of PCBs, keypads, enclosure and mechanical pieces to reduce existing inventory.-Managing the development of embedded firmware in C to control the output circuit for a modular based pressure transmitter. Responsibilities included:*Set-up and communicated key project milestones to meet deadlines for beta testing and production.*Utilizing a common code foundation, writing firmware that conforms to internal protocol specification for internal and external board communication.*Creating a method for circuits to automatically send communications, which are triggered by multiple variables – time, pressure and digital I/O – that are critical to modulate current and voltage outputs in reference to pressure. *Developed firmware for contract manufacturers to automatically test PCBs for proper functionality and performance.-Designed a display for a handheld product that is used in Class 1 Division 1 and Zone 0 hazardous. It conforms to ATEX IECEX specifications. Project responsibilities included:Training for intrinsically safe product design by Underwriter Laboratories.*Working closely with touch screen LCD manufacturer to design an intrinsically safe display*Creating an interface to communicate with a single board computer, running Windows CE.
