WCG Department of Economic Development & Tourism Roundtable on skills required for a broadband-enabled economyRoundtable and stakeholder member providing in put to assist with providing a mechanisms and data where organised business, government, organised labour, civil society and institutions of learning and skills development can collaborate on broadband skills development programmes and projects; the aim of which is to provide the business and labour market with the skills necessary for growth; To assist with providing a mechanism through which the medium and long-term skills needs of the Western Cape economy can be researched and identified to better inform the skills delivery strategies of institutions of learning and skills development using the broadband medium. To help with ensuring each sector that is identified for support will have a skills development programme appropriate to that sector but also taking cognizance of the wider benefits for other sectors in the provincial economy.

To assist with providing a mechanism where organised business, government, organised labour, civil society and institutions of e-learning and e-skills development can collaborate on e-skills development programmes and projects; the aim of which is to provide the market with the skills necessary for growth. To assist with providing a mechanism through which the medium and long-term skills needs of the Western Cape and South African economy can be researched and identified to better inform the e-skills delivery strategies of institutions of learning and skills development. To help with ensuring each sector that is identified for support will have the e-skills development programme appropriate to that sector but also taking cognizance of the wider benefits for other sectors in the provincial and national economy.
