I am currently a data scientist and a project leader working at the University Hospital in Basel, Switzerland. My main interest lies in analysing and interpreting genome-wide data in context of breast cancer research in order to provide computational background for biologists. I am also interested in predictive modelling of patients' response to anti-cancer treatment using methods of machine learning. I want to turn academic knowledge to "real" products with clinical impact. This was one of the reasons I co-founded RXcel, a start-up company with the aim to develop RNA therapeutics to help those oncology patients for which the standard-of-care treatments are very limited. I have background in theoretical and computational physics where I studied behaviour of many-particle nanoscale systems. I am passionate about sharing science with others. I am also deeply convinced that if science is not well communicated to public, people start doubting it. So I have been teaching mathematics, physics and programming at many levels starting from regular high school classes over specialized university lectures to master/PhD thesis (co)supervisions. I have also experience managing scientific projects across diverse scientific teams.
