ThoughtWorks, LLC was founded in 1978 and I was still in the USAF. One of our 1st developments was a 5 & 20 MB Hard Drive Addon to the IBM Personal Computer. Microage was our distributor. We went on to a number of other multi user Microcomputer projects. Back in the days of CPM and MPM, we wrote and developed the USAF Automated Contract Writing System. This was when a work processor called "Electric Pencil" was being used.

The title that describes my responsibilities here at thinkASG, a premier IBM reseller is Storage Practice Lead. It could be Director or Vice President but what I do here is architect IBM Storage Solutions that my sales organization can deliver to our customers that provides value, savings and solve customer’s pain points.Some of these unique technologies include IBM’s ProtecTIER Data Deduplication for data protection. The motto here is “Protect More, Store Less”. Along with a wide variety of Enterprise class data storage products I have architected solutions using IBM’s real Time Compression Appliance and IBM’s Linear Tape File System.Architecting these solutions to work together to offer our customers unique, robust solutions that meet their growing data protection requirements is my job and I do this very well.

After working at Diligent Technologies, we were acquired by IBM in April 2008. Continued in the same role with the same team, just a new name on the pay check.

Built and managed a sales organization for 21 western states consisting of 8 solution architects and 6 account executives. 55 customers were gained representing 63% of company's total revenues. Sales grew 32% year over year.Recruited and maintained channel partnerships with value added resellers such as Abba Technologies, Datalink, Applied Computer Solutions, ASG, ABTech Systems, RedBridge IT, and Helio/Incentra Solutions. All sales went through partners.Established and grew reseller and OEM relationships with Hitachi Data Systems (HDS), SUN Microsystems, IBM, and Overland Storage.Sold ProtecTIER and VTFMainframe into a variety of industries and account such as: United Healthcare, Warner Brothers, TIVO, US Space Command, and Sandia National Labs. Largest deal was in support of 4 PB of data and consisted of 36 ProtecTIER nodes.
