It Support Technician
CurrentMain responsibilities:• Provide client technical support in person, via email, and over the phone• Track support requests and document work performed, changes made, and solutions in a ticketing system (FogBugz)• Install, configure, and maintain computers, desktop operating systems, application software, and peripherals (printers, scanners, keyboards, etc.)• Create and manage user accounts, security groups, group policies, and file share permissions using Windows Server and Windows Active Directory• Create and manage user accounts, distribution lists, and shared mailboxes in Microsoft 365• Manage dormitory resident data, meal plans, and paid printing accounts• Set up conference room equipment for hosting Teams, Zoom, and phone meetings • Configure and troubleshoot issues with wireless access points, switches, and ethernet cabling• Perform desktop and laptop hardware troubleshooting and computer part replacements• Maintain inventory database of computer equipment• Create, update, and maintain technical documentation for clients and staff• Assisted in training a new IT staff memberProjects:• Implemented Microsoft Teams and the Teams Phone System for an organization of 40 users• Cleaned up permissions and resolved search indexing issues on an organization’s file server • Planned and completed migration from Windows 7 to Windows 10 for an organization of 40 users• Created Access databases for comparing and updating resident account information• Implemented OneDrive backup and Microsoft 2-factor authentication for an organization of 40 users
