I started Long Forestry Consultation in 2005 with my brother Chris in order to promote sustainable forest management in southern Illinois, and to educate the public on the importance of forest management and diversity. Today, after many trials, successes, and failures, we have grown into a well rounded company that now employs 8 full time employees. We strive to offer the private landowners of southern Illinois and the surrounding areas with quality forest management, information, educational materials, and peace of mind in knowing that their natural lands will be well taken care of. To date, we have written forest management plans for private landowners on over 20,000 acres, have conducted invasive species control on over 3000 acres, have burned over 1000 acres, and have completed forest stand improvement on over 5000 acres. We also acquired cost share funds for most of the management we have done on private lands. In addition, we have acquired over $782,000 for private landowners through sustainable timber harvests. I look forward to the many opportunities the next 10 years will bring to our company and the private forest landowners of southern Illinois and the surrounding areas.
