- Part of the Research and Broadcast Services department, whose primary focus is to provide research, statistical, analytical analysis to media clients (television, radio, newspaper/internet) for professional and collegiate sporting events (baseball, basketball, football, and hockey). The main emphasis is on live television broadcasts of sporting events.- Supervise, mentor, and train the technical members of the department. Collaborate with direct reports to set goals and have performance reviews with each of them twice a year. Responsibilities of direct reports include Oracle database programming for data mining and analysis, analytic analysis using Tableau, .NET web programming, and producing client deliverables on a daily basis (automated and manual reports, answering client research and custom graphic requests).- Interaction with clients on a regular basis such as assisting on answering research requests, troubleshooting any technical issues with client deliverables, and providing updated information about our services and deliverables at the start and throughout all the different sport seasons we support (baseball, basketball, football, hockey).- Primary customer and technical support for clients that receive custom data files used to populate television graphics for live broadcasts of sporting events. Support includes providing timely updates to data files as requested and troubleshooting technical issues with accessing and loading the data in various graphics machines (Chyron Lyric and Viz Trio software). - Worked with Human Resources and management team to create department-wide leveling and career paths for entire Research and Broadcast Services personnel. Held meetings with each direct report to explain the new leveling structure and their level within it.

- Converted client data deliverables from being generated in a legacy VMS system to Oracle. Conversion was for all clients across baseball (MLB), basketball (NBA), and hockey (NHL) leagues. Data is used in various graphic engines to populate graphics used for television broadcasts of sporting events. - Assisted with cross training of staff on learning Tableau and Adobe Photoshop to create analytic reports and custom graphics to support television broadcasts of MLB, NBA, and NHL games. Regularly contributed to the creation of analytic reports and custom graphics for broadcast clients.

- Created and tested dynamic SQL programs that were added to an internal website used within the department to assist with research and for answering client requests. Programs were designed to be flexible so that one program would be capable of answering a variety of questions.- Primary troubleshooter for any IT issues within the department since no onsite IT staff existed. Communicated with IT at headquarters with any technical issues that could not be fixed without some assistance.

- Part of a four-person team that designed and developed mapping capabilities for Linux applications using the ESRI ArcGIS Engine SDK. Capabilities included displaying objects on a map and performing 3D terrain calculations such as line of sight, visibility analysis, terrain profile, and surface intersection. Played key role in decision making progress of how mapping features were implemented.- Designed and developed mapping capabilities for Windows desktop applications the ESRI ArcGIS Engine SDK. Capabilities included displaying objects on a map and creating tools for users to perform different types of geographic analysis.- Created and implemented procedures for converting geographic data into different formats for map making and geographic analysis using primarily ESRI ArcMap software. - Tested features of Windows desktop applications to ensure the software worked according to specifications. Documented test procedures and any features of the software that did not work. Created scripts and used simulation software to help with the testing.

- Provided statistical support to television broadcasts of sporting events; primarily baseball (MLB), football (NFL and CFB), basketball (NBA and CBK), and hockey (NHL). Created database programs (SQL and PL/SQL) that generated statistical information based on requests from television crews for pre-game, in-game, and post-game support of sporting events. - Part of a three-person team that designed and developed an internal website for colleagues to run database queries that generated statistical data for supporting sporting events. Site was developed to answer repetitive requests quickly and to give the staff the ability to easily run complex queries.

- Designed and developed a web-based online loss estimation tool with geographic datasets for Southern California. Had functionality to calculate earthquake loss estimates for buildings and casualties on a census tract level and could also calculate evacuation routes on a transportation network. - Designed and developed a Windows desktop mapping application with Microsoft Excel, ESRI MapObjects, and ER Mapper's ECW Software Development Kit. Database of residential developments could be queried and mapped to geographically visualize locations of developments.- Designed and developed a damage reconnaissance system that overlayed a real-time GPS feed on satellite imagery. Digital video and digital photos were synced to GPS points, enabling the user to click on a GPS point to bring up a photo or video for that specific location.- Member of teams that deployed the damage reconnaissance system for post damage assessment from a car or plane in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, and California after Hurricanes Charley, Ivan, Dennis, Katrina, Rita, Wilma and an earthquake in Parkfield, CA; Data was collected, manipulated, and then transferred to clients to calibrate loss estimation models. - Designed and developed an automated natural hazard disclosure report generator for real estate transactions. Residential properties were geo-located and then overlaid with various natural hazard datasets to determine if a property was in or out of the various hazard zones. - Designed and developed web mapping application displaying satellite imagery overlaid with geographic data using ER Mapper's Software Development Kit and Image Web Server, University of Minnesota Internet Map Server, JavaScript, and HTML.- Troubleshot and maintained the company computers and network.- Helped update and maintain the company web site.
