As a civil/structural design engineer I am a firm believer in achieving optimum solutions based on a holistic view of all the issues involved. I am convinced that engineering at its best is about solving problems in a simple, elegant way. Too often we overcomplicate things and by so doing fail to meet basic criteria - functionality, buildability, robustness, durability. It is all too easy in today's economic climate to pursue perceived cost savings at the expense of programme or quality, or to seek short term savings that compromise future operational and maintenance needs - or at worst are simply unsustainable.I am committed to getting the best out of people, through high performing teams that communicate and collaborate both internally and with stakeholders.
